Louis Armstrong élete zenés színpadi monodráma formában új, különleges és egyedi előadás lesz. A zenés monodráma Louis Armstrong levelei és közismert és autentikus mondásai ihlették. A főszerepet alakító Onix Lan, Nigériai származású tehetséges, sokoldalú énekes-színész, aki magyar és angol nyelven, valamint hangszeres virtuóz játékán keresztül hitelesen jeleníti meg Louis Armstrongot a színpadon.

„Nem sok időt kaptam arra, hogy még egyszer utoljára írjak neked, oda tartok ahonnan nincs visszaút, őseimhez, az annyit szenvedett népemhez. Még kicsi voltál, amikor magamhoz vettelek, ezért nem tudom, hogy te mire emlékszel, de bennem minden tisztán megmaradt, mintha, tegnap lett volna. Most bizonyára azt kérded, miért pont én? Erre azt válaszolom, miért ne pont te? Az élet annyi, de annyi megmagyarázhatatlan csodálatos dolgot hordoz. De hogy ne beszéljek hozzád rébuszokba, amikor elém hozott Isten, egy kicsit, vagy talán nem is kicsit, magamat láttam benned, elesett voltál és szeretetre vágytál, de Isten engem küldött hozzád. Sajnos kevés időt töltöttünk együtt, hiszen állandóan úton voltam, s úgy nőttél fel, hogy szinte nem is ismertél. Ezért megkésve, de szeretném, ha megismernél, hibáimat, erényeimet, s ha lehet azt, hogyan váltam azzá, amivé”.

“Letters from Satchmo” – A Musical Monodrama About the Life of Louis Armstrong.

The life of Louis Armstrong will be presented in the form of a musical stage monodrama, offering a new, unique, and special performance. This musical monodrama is inspired by Louis Armstrong’s letters and his well-known, authentic sayings. The lead role is played by Onix Lan, a talented and versatile Nigerian-born singer-actor, who authentically portrays Louis Armstrong on stage in both Hungarian and English, as well as through his virtuosic instrumental performances.

Dear Clarence,
“I don’t have much time left to write to you one last time. I’m heading to a place from which there’s no return, to my ancestors, to my long-suffering people. You were very young when I took you in, so I don’t know what you remember, but for me, everything has stayed crystal clear, as if it happened yesterday. Now, you’re probably asking, ‘Why me?’ To which I answer, ‘Why not you?’ Life holds so many inexplicable wonders. But to stop speaking in riddles: when God brought you into my life, in some way – maybe not a small way – I saw myself in you. You were vulnerable and longing for love, and God sent me to you. Unfortunately, we spent very little time together, as I was constantly on the road, and you grew up barely knowing me. So, belatedly, I’d like you to get to know me – my flaws, my virtues, and, if possible, how I became who I am.”
